The latest listing in the gated communities of Plaza Del Amo in Central Torrance is a nice one.

The Second “Bungalows” Townhome For Sale This Week

It had been about a year since the last home sold in the complex known as Bungalows or Beach City Bungalows, but that’s certainly changed quite a bit as of late.  3538 Torrance Boulevard Unit#104 just sold for $975,000 and we had mentioned a 3 bedroom #199 that just was listed for $1,068,000.   Now 3538 Torrance Blvd #190, which is a slightly smaller unit just listed at $1,050,000.

This newest listing is listed at 1,665 square feet so just a bit smaller than #199 but this is also more updated and upgraded.  The upgrades included granite counters in the kitchen, stainless steel appliances, newer gas range and beautiful hardwood flooring in the living spaces and stairs (bedrooms are carpeted).   The traditional floorplan has all bedrooms on the same, upper level.

The home enjoys 2 balconies as well as a backyard/patio for some nice outdoor areas to enjoy the usually fantastic weather.  The 3 car garage had the 3rd space converted to a storage room.  The home offers central air and heat.

Bungalows consists of 100 townhomes centered around a nice pool and jacuzzi deck and is centrally located to everything in Torrance and the South Bay.

As mentioned the last sale of this size townhome at Unit#104 just sold for $975,000 on 4/19/24

One of the more recent 55+ senior condos for sale in Torrance is a first floor one bedroom in the Gables located on Torrance Blvd.  Ownership in The Gables requires at least 1 owner must be at least 55 years old. Built in 2006 the senior condos in the The Gables have a newer look and feel and all the desired modern features including granite countertops, stainless appliances, interior laundry, central air conditioning and more.   The community does not have a gym or pool, but the building does have a community room and library.

If Mystery is Your Thing….2300 Maple Ave#107 in Chatelaine

There are homes we don’t know much about….and then there are homes that we no nothing about.  This is one of the latter.  This listing is a probate sale (not needing court confirmation thankfully as that’s a miserable experience) with tenants that have been served notice to vacate. Due to this there are no photos and nothing is really known of the condition.  The home was last sold in 1994 for there’s no past listings or photos to look at.  Making it even more complicated (possibly) is that there appears to be a mortgage from 2022 at $1,395,000 which is another mystery.  It’s possible and even likely it’s a reverse mortgage in which they didn’t actually use much of the funds but we just don’t know.

As the last three bedroom in Chatelaine at 2300 Maple Ave Unit#37 sold at $1,030,000 in December, there’s a chance that this is a deal at this price but given what we know, it seems likely to sell below their list price….if at all. Who knows though…..maybe the mystery reveals that it’s a beautiful home.
